A MAN RELEASED his pet rat in a restaurant on Valentine’s Day – all so he wouldn’t have to pay £7.25 for his meal.

Christopher Baker has pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation after the incident at Borneo Bistro in Sunderland earlier this year.
Baker was captured on CCTV fumbling in his pockets, before surreptitiously dropping something to the floor and jumping up in mock-horror.
According to the Sunderland Express, Baker announced to the restaurant: “It’s a rat. I’m not eating here, I want my money back.”
Restaurant owner Kevin Smith has branded Baker a ‘scumbag’ and said the stunt could have ruined his business. The rat-dropper was slapped with a 12-month community order and a £67.25 fine.
It’s a rat trap, Baker – and you’ve been caught. (Sorry.)
